It&#8217;s hard to tell what the original 1700&#8217;s underglaze decoration was, as the multi color &amp; gilt overglaze decoration of dragons &amp; flowers\u00a0extends over the entire surface.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3735.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2010\" title=\"IMG_3735\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3735.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"467\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3735.jpg 400w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3735-256x300.jpg 256w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Clobbered in the early 1800s to satisfy the demand for more colorful pottery of the times, this small teapot stands\u00a04-3\/4&#8243; tall.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3736.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2011\" title=\"IMG_3736\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3736.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"363\" height=\"468\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3736.jpg 363w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3736-232x300.jpg 232w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 363px) 100vw, 363px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There is a hole connecting the spout to the body, as well as a tiny hole in the lid for steam to escape, confirming this to be a functioning miniature.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3737.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2012\" title=\"IMG_3737\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3737.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"376\" height=\"468\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3737.jpg 376w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3737-241x300.jpg 241w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 376px) 100vw, 376px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This piece has travelled much over the past 220 years, as it was originally made in China, exported to Europe, clobbered most likely in Holland, landed in Scotland with a collector and ended up with me in America!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3738.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2013\" title=\"IMG_3738\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3738.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"357\" height=\"468\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3738.jpg 357w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3738-228x300.jpg 228w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 357px) 100vw, 357px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The replaced metal handle has been painted to match the body.
