It is decorated with the &#8220;Amoy&#8221; pattern, an exotic blue &amp; white\u00a0Chinoiserie design. It had a matching basin and was part of a larger wash set that would have been found on top of a bedroom washstand<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1888.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2475\" title=\"IMG_1888\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1888.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"560\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1888.jpg 399w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1888-213x300.jpg 213w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jug measures 13&#8243; tall<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1889.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_1889\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1889.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"550\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Chinoiserie (&#8220;Chinese-esque&#8221;)\u00a0decoration was quite popular in Europe since being introduced by the French in the 17th century.
