Nelson\u00a0become one of Britain&#8217;s greatest war heroes and many monuments in England have been erected in his memory<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1719.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2637\" title=\"IMG_1719\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1719.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"247\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1719.jpg 399w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1719-300x185.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One side has a moulded relief vignette of a crocodile, a pyramid and a fort with military devices, surmounted by a banner titled &#8220;TRAFALGAR&#8221;, surrounded by classical acanthus leaves<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_4138.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3223\" title=\"IMG_4138\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_4138.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"308\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_4138.jpg 399w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_4138-300x231.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Teapot measures 4-3\/4&#8243; high and is 10&#8243; long<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1720.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2638\" title=\"IMG_1720\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1720.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"246\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1720.jpg 400w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1720-300x184.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The reverse side shows a monument with the figures of Britannia and Victory holding a shield inscribed &#8220;NELSON&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_4140.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3224\" title=\"IMG_4140\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_4140.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_4140.jpg 400w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_4140-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Remains of black enamel are seen on the side of the replaced tin spout. It was quite common for teapot spouts to break or chip and I have dozens of examples of this type of repair in my collection. I have even seen silver mounts on intact spouts that would have been attached at the time of purchase\u00a0for proactive protection<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1731.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2639\" title=\"IMG_1731\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1731.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"276\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1731.jpg 399w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1731-300x207.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A well executed tin lid with turned pewter knob replaced the lost or broken lid.
