Waste bowls, aka slop bowls, were used for pouring out the remaining cold tea before pouring another cup of tea.<span style=\"line-height: normal; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 3px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 3px; font-size: small;\"> It has a cobalt blue &amp; white transfer decoration of a bee skep in a bucolic pastoral setting<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_2497.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_2497\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_2497.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"270\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The many cracks on the sides have been stabilized by the careful addition of small ridged metal staples, which appear to be machine made<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_2495.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_2495\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_2495.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_2496.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_2496\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_2496.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"261\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A single bent metal staple affixed to the underside acts as a crutch and ingeniously supports the broken base<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3276.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_3276\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_3276.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"315\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bowl measures 2-1\/2&#8243; high with a dimeter of 4-1\/8&#8243;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_2494.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"IMG_2494\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_2494.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"328\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This English-made soft paste pottery waste bowl was originally part of a larger tea set.
