I was hoping to find other antiques with interesting repairs throughout my travels to central and southern India, but I mostly found just broken ceramic pieces with chips, cracks and no repairs. But I am sure India is filled with more many examples of wonderfully repaired antiques and I look forward to finding some of them when I return.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1859_21.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4495\" title=\"IMG_1859_2\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1859_21.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"298\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1859_21.jpg 400w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1859_21-300x223.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bowl measures 10&#8243; in diameter and is 4-1\/2&#8243; high.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7087.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5284\" title=\"IMG_7087\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7087.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"294\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7087.jpg 400w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7087-300x220.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A large chip on the rim has been covered up with a tin cuff\u00a0and a long crack has been secured by means of a brass strap and rivets.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_18601.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4600\" title=\"IMG_1860\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_18601.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"319\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_18601.jpg 400w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_18601-300x239.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I believe this to be an English example of Gaudy Dutch ware, with a boldly painted variation of the\u00a0&#8220;King&#8217;s Rose&#8221; pattern.
