It looks like someone threw it out of a moving car. The rim appears to have been nibbled at by a porcelain mouse.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_80591.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5715\" title=\"IMG_8059\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_80591.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"445\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_80591.jpg 400w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_80591-269x300.jpg 269w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Although this mug is riddled with numerous cracks and chips, it will make a splendid pencil holder.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_8060.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5716\" title=\"IMG_8060\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_8060.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"441\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_8060.jpg 399w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_8060-271x300.jpg 271w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>All that holds the mug together now is a single tin strap, added by a tinsmith in the 19th century.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_8062.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5718\" title=\"IMG_8062\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_8062.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_8062.jpg 399w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_8062-300x263.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bits of old fabric strips once sealed the cracks on the bottom.
