I have come across dozens of oil lamps with inventive repairs, as they were used daily, often moved, and frequently broke.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_20541.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4638\" title=\"IMG_2054\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_20541.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"597\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_20541.jpg 400w, http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_20541-201x300.jpg 201w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The conical tin base, made by a tinsmith, replaced the original glass base and has been filled with weights to ensure the lamp does not fall over and break again.
