{"id":9326,"date":"2016-02-28T10:59:54","date_gmt":"2016-02-28T15:59:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/andrewbaseman.com\/blog\/?p=9326"},"modified":"2016-02-28T11:01:47","modified_gmt":"2016-02-28T16:01:47","slug":"chinese-porcelain-plate-with-staples-c-1710","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.andrewbaseman.com\/?p=9326","title":{"rendered":"Chinese porcelain plate with staples, c.1710"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This early 1700s hexagonal\u00a0porcelain plate was made in China during the\u00a0Kangxi\u00a0Period (1662-1722).\u00a0It has an unglazed hexagonal rim and foot rim, with a cobalt blue underglaze garden design and floral border. It \u00a0measures 9 inches in diameter.<\/p>\n<p>After the plate took a tumble, it was put back together using\u00a0three large metal staples, aka rivets, as well as an unusual pewter plug.\u00a0Unlike the majority of the staple repairs I come across, the holes drilled to accommodate the staples go all the way through to the front, resulting in\u00a0a nice dot pattern.
